In one of the Langham Hilton’s most stylish suites, Channel 4 soap beauties Elize du Toit, Kate Baines & Sarah-Jayne Steed talks buddies, boys and fat bums.

You don’t have to be gorgeous to get a part in Hollyoaks – but it certainly doesn’t do you any harm! And these three beautiful young actresses, who star in the popular Channel 4 soap and are currently gracing its feature-length video special, Indecent Behaviour, are definitely no exception.

Elize du Toit (blonde student Izzy), Kate Baines (Beth Morgan) and newcomer Sarah-Jayne Steed (who plays Alyson Turner, a journalist and former girlfriend of Geri’s current boyfriend, footballer Jason Cunliffe) joined OK! in the stylish Concierge Club suite at London’s Langham Hilton hotel to indulge in a bit of gossip during their very own pyjama party. The girls were only too happy to divulge who their favourite male co-stars are, what they get up to on nights out in Liverpool and what they talk about on girlie nights in…

Why don’t you start by telling us a bit about your characters…

Elize: Izzy’s really blunt and straightforward; she doesn’t mess around and she can totally stand up for herself. But she’s also out for a laugh, I think. She’s stopped seeing Dan because he lied about his diabetes and recently she’s been sparring with a new character, Toby, so there might be something developing there, but I’m not sure yet.

Would you ever go for any of the Hollyoaks boys in real life?

Elize: I couldn’t possibly decide between them!

What makes Indecent Behaviour even steamier than the Hollyoaks recent late-night series, Moving On?

Elize: Basically, it’s a lot more sexual. There’s shower scenes, bed scenes and even a limo scene!

What do you get up to on nights out with your girlfriends?

Elize: To be honest, we work such crazy hours that we don’t often get the chance to go out on a proper girls’ night out, but when we do it’s always good fun, especially if we’re not working early the next day. If we want to go clubbing, we hit the Life Bar on Thursday – the Hollyoaks cast have always gone there. Or the Living Room, which stays open late.

How long do you spend getting ready?

Elize: I’m like that [quick at dressing] as well. I come back from work and just slump on the sofa until about 15 minutes before I’m due to go out. Then it’s a mad rush!

What do you wear when you go out?

Elize: I’m usually in trainers and feel most comfortable in a plan black or white T-shirt and a pair of jeans. But I did recently splash out on a pair of Gina shoes for the National TV Awards!

Do you get chatted up when you go out?

Elize: I don’t! I haven’t since I joined Hollyoaks. People expect you do but it’s really not like that.

What kind of men do you go for?

Elize: Someone who makes you feel special every single day, not just on Valentines Day.

What happens when you have a girls’ night in?

Elize: That’s something I haven’t done for ages but, when I do, it involves a big tub of Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream – Cherry Garcia is the best – we’d get a video, some wine and maybe an Indian takeaway as well. I always ask my friends for advice if I’ve any problems with work or relationships.
